Week One Workouts

Before even getting started on which videos to use during the week, I needed a plan, ie: which days do I do what. I found this video from LeanSecrets titled THE PERFECT WORKOUT PLAN! – (For Faster Fat Loss & Healthy Hormones)

The host, Brenda Turner, breaks down the building blocks used to maintain an even and effective workout plan: Build Composition and Strength, Flexibility/Mobility, Cardio, and Recovery. 

Later, she goes into Zones: Zone 1 (for recouping, mindlessness, chill, ie: tai chi, foam rolling, etc.; Zone 2: light sweat; Zone 3: Moderate-to-intense, ie HIIT ; Zone 4: Intense! All Out! ie: CrossFit, heavy deadlifts, etc. Essentially, you want to have your weeks heavier in Zones 3 and 4, rather than Zones 1 and 2

Then she goes into how to choose which days to do what, taking into account how you feel, what you need to get done, what has already been done the past four days, and for us ladies, our menstrual cycle. I don’t know about you, but when I have PMS I’m even more zombified than usual.

I decided to start with the example week in the video: Leg Circuit, Upper Body, HIIT, Yoga/Core, Full Body, and Fun Day (something challenging, but fun)
